Dedication and With Gratitude This independent study is dedicated to the memory of the 1937 Melrose Shamrocks state championship basketball team. In particular, this project is dedicated to my grandfather, Jim Carr, a member of the team; my grandmother, Madeline Knowles Carr, for her memories of Melrose which she passed down to me; and to my parents, Kris Anderson and Mary Carr, who helped me with the research for my study.
