2001 St Patrick's Day Parade

The rest of the HUGH Melrose delegation walked the parade route with St. Patrick-- proudly decked out in Melrose & green attire, carrying signs & flags, handing out potatoes to bystanders & bribing the Judges with potatoes &  big heads of cabbage.  And special  St. Patrick escorts included some of the REAL LEPRECHAUNS that reside in Melrose, Iowa’s Little Ireland.

AND MELROSE SUCCESSFULLY WINS THE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP –FIRST PLACE  PARADE  ENTRY TROPHY-- AGAIN!!  CONGRATULATIONS MELROSE !!!!!

This victory was even sweeter when the Judges announced that our neighbors & sister Parish  Georgetown  was awarded First Place Theme category.  CONGRATULATIONS GEORGETOWN !!
